Our Server Policies
Acceptable Usage Policy
The following are violations of the Route2 Acceptable Usage Policy (the AUP) and may, at the exclusive discretion of Route2 Management, result in the termination of the Colocated Server Agreement.
This Acceptable Usage Policy applies to all co-located, shared and dedicated server services with Route2.
- 1. Adult Content
- Adult content including but not limited to nudity, pornography and text describing sexual acts.
- 2. Fradulent Activity
- Use of Route2 service to participate in financial misrepresentation or "pyramid schemes" of any kind, making fraudulent claims or illegitimate offers to sell or buy products, items or services.
- 3. Third Party Accountability
- Route2 subscribers will be held responsible and accountable for any activity by third parties using their account that violate guidelines created within this Acceptable Usage Policy (the AUP).
- 4. Harassment
- Use of the Route2 service to transmit any material that harasses another.
- 5. Threats
- Use of the Route2 service to transmit any material that threatens or encourages injury to any person or property damage.
- 6. Copyright Violations
- Distribution and/or posting of copyrighted material and/or derivative works for which no permission has been granted by the copyright holder.
- 7. Illegal Usage
- Any service provided by Route2 may not be used for illegal purposes.
- 8. Inappropriate Software
- Use of software or any device which facilitates a continued connection (i.e. pinging) while using Route2 services could result in an immediate account suspension.
- 9. Unauthorized Access
- Use of the Route2 service in any attempt to gain unauthorized access to hardware or software systems and security measures is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate irrevocable account termination.
- 10. Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail, SPAM
- Use of the Route2 service to transmit any unsolicited commercial or unsolicited bulk e-mail is expressly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination. Anyone hosting websites or services on their server that support spammers or cause any of the Route2 or affiliate IP space to be listed in any of the various Spam Databases will have their account immediately removed.
- 11. Forgery or Impersonation
- Adding, removing or modifying the identifying network header information in an effort to deceive or mislead is prohibited. Attempting to impersonate any person by using forged headers or other identifying information is prohibited. The use of anonymous re-mailers or nicknames does not constitute impersonation.
- 12. Collection of Personal Data
- Use of the Route2service to collect or attempt to collect personal information about third parties without their knowledge or consent.
- 13. Distribution of Malicious Code
- Intentional distributions of software or source code that is intended to and/or causes damage, harassment or annoyance to persons, data and/or computer systems.
- 14. E-Mail / News Bombing
- Intent to impede another person’s use of electronic mail services or news.
- 15. E-Mail / Message Forging
- Forging any message header, in part or whole, of any electronic transmission, originating or passing through the Route2 service.
- 16. Usenet Spamming
- Posting messages or commercial advertisements which violate the rules, regulations, FAQ or charter of any newsgroup or mailing list.
Route2 reserves the right to change, modify, add to and/or subtract from the terms of the Acceptable Usage Policy at any time with or without notice to all concerned parties.
